Ageing brings with it not only wrinkles, but also other body changes such as decrease of muscle mass, blood pumping capacity, metabolic rate and bone density which makes bones more fragile and susceptible to fractures. Ageing brings with it obesity, raised cholesterol levels, arthritis, osteoporosis and obesity heart disease, cancer, diabetes, etc. One does not die from old age; one die from diseases.
Regular exercise, however, can roll back the years. Regular exercise can slow age-related degeneration of bone, muscle, skin, nerves and cells. By being physically active, you can age comfortably, stay alert and vibrant. Strength training forces muscles to contract and make more protein, new muscle tissues and prevent muscle loss which accompany ageing. Regular exercise stimulate the pituary gland to increase HGF (Human Growth Hormone) production.
Deficiency in Human Growth Hormone results in less energy, memory loss, reduced libido (sex drive), decreasing muscle and skin tone, impaired eyesight, bone loss and hair loss (somatopause). Don't try artificial HGH injection or supplement as they have been found to be not safe as such treatments increase cancer risks, especially prostate and breast cancer, and diabetes.
What research showed:
University of Texas researchers, Behavioural Medicine: Physical inactivity speed up ageing and lead to rapid onset of muscle wastage, decreased endurance, loss of flexibility and balance
University of Texas researchers: Walking, weightlifting, flexibility training and other forms of exercise can help older people avoid the disabilities normally associated with ageing and can even reverse the ageing process itself.
Dr. Chuck McCauley, cardiology Department, Marshfield Clinic, Wisconsin, US: Clinically speaking, people who exercise throughout their lives seem to d a lot better physically at handling daily activities of life as they head into older age.
"Staying Alive" Australia's The Age, 11 March 2004: It is never too late to start exercising. In a study, when sedentary 50-year olds began exercising for 1 hour a day for 4-5 days a week, their aerobic capacity returned to where it was when they were 20.
European Journal of Applied Physiology, 1996: A study showed a large elevation of HGH in response to sprints on an exercise bike and has some tips to give:
tip 1 - In terms of training, research has shown that multiple daily sessions can give rise to optimal high secretion over a 24-hour period
tip 2 - A study investigating the effects of 3 exercise sessions a day - with either 1.5 or 3-hour recovery periods between them - found the longer recoveries led to the greatest volumn of 24-hour HGH Secretion (Journal of Applied Physiology, 1997)
tip 3 - For best results, don't eat for at least 2 hours before exercising so that the exercise-induced release of HGH is not counteracted by high levels of insulin in your blog.

Papaya leaf extract anti-cancer
University of Florida researcher Nam Dang claimed that papaya leaf extract can boost key signaling molecules called Th1-Type cytokines which help regulate the immune systems which can lead to therapeutic treatments using the immune system to fight various types of cancer.
In the research report published in the February issue of the Journal of Ethnopharmacology which seemed to back many folk traditions, it is claimed that papaya leaf extract and its tea have dramatic cancer-fighting properties against a wide range of tumours. A further plus point was that the papaya leaf extract had no toxic effect on normal cells which is a big plus as compared to many cancer treatments which has many side effects.

Allergy blood test results by Allergy Diagnostics Sdn. Bhd.
Date: 2 & 3 March 2010
ImmunoCAP Total IgE concentration: 1393 kU/l
Total serum IgE level at 1391 KU/L (normal level 50) is significantly elevated, indicating very high probablity of IgE mediated allergy reaction consistent with atopy.
Specific allergen test for aeroallergen (dust mites D. pteronyssinus, D. farinae, Blomia tropicalis) showed positive reaction
Specific allergen test for food allergens (wheat, peanut, soya bean, shrimp, ikan bilis, rice, potato, oat, garlic, mango, papaya) showed positive reaction
Specific allergen test for food allergens (egg white, cows milk, mushroom, sardine, ikan tengiri) showed negative reaction
Recommendations:
Elimination diet avoiding offending foods and all food products containing them in any form, should be practiced for at least 4 months
House dust mite allergens are commonly associated with allergic rhinitis, asthma and sometimes atopic dermatitis. Immediate measures should be taken to control dust mite infestation in the home environment. The following procedures have been found useful to reduce dust mite populations:
(a) All dust trapping objects (carpets, furry toys, thick curtains, book shelves, old newspapers, etc.) should be removed from the bedroom. Daily wet-mop the floor of the house to reduce dust. Anti-dust mite formulations can be sprayed in unaccessible places. The use of an air filter with HEPA attachment in the bedroom may be beneficial
Buy HEPA air filter
(b) Spray acaracide (a special formulation which kills house dust mites) on mattress, pillows, carpets and upholstered furniture (Use Demitize anti-dust mits spray for best results)
Alternative: Buy Demite laundry additives, spray etc.
(c) Totally encase pillow and mattress with anti-dust mite control barriers (Specifically designed allergy control barriers that prevent dust mite or other allergens to pass through it to reach patient's body. Mattress must be totally encased to be effective) to isolate the dust mite allergens (Use Demitze anti-dust mite mattress/pillow allergicover for best results)
Buy Anti-dust mite covers
(d) All bed linens should be washed at 55o/130oF at least once a week
3. Furry household pets, probably dog or cat in this case, are a major source of allergens, which are derived from tiny scales of skin (dander) shed by the animal, dried saliva and urine. These animal allergens circulate throughout the house as dust particles. Removal of the pet from the house is advised. Implement rigorous regular cleaning program of home to remove traces of allergen adherring to the floor, walls, beddings and furniture. Do not permit pets to enter the bedroom. An air filter with HEPA attachment in the bedroom may help.

Exercise best medicine Alzheimer's Disease
Alzheimer's disease, also known as the "long goodbye", is a progressive brain disorder which prograssively destroys a victim's memory and ability to reason, make decisions, learn, communicate and carry out basic everyday activities. An Alzheimer's victim may change in personality and behaviour plus suffer from hallucinations and delusions. Life expectancy is shortened. Victims eventually become bedridden and reuires round the clock care until death. There is no known cure for Alzhermer's.
- Improve mood
- Improve sleep (People with Alzheimer's often have sleep disturbances such as becoming agitated at bedtime, wander at night or sleep fitfully)
- Reduce likelihood of constipation
- Maintain good motor skills
- Improves strength, coordination and balance and thus reduce risks of falls and injuries (Alzheimer's patients are at higher risks of falls and fractures)
- Reduce rate of disease-associated mental decline
- Improve memory
- Reduce likelihood of wandering away from home and getting lost, swearing and acting aggressively
- Improve communication and social skills
- Mayo Clinic 2005: Walking 20 minutes 3 times a week can boost mood, decrease falls, reduce wandering, delay nursing home placement in people with Alzheimer's
- University of Washington, Seattle, US study, 2003: Exercise lessens depression and provides improved physical functioning in Alzheimer's patients
- Karolinska Institute, Sweden study, Lancet Neurology, October 2005: 20-30 minutes of exercise which is enough to cause breathlessness and sweating, 2 times a week, reduces risk of getting Alzheimer's by 60% and other types of dementia by 50%; and is especially beneficial for people with the gene apoe4, a known risk factor for Alzheimer's Disease
- University of Washington study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, cited in a BBC News article 17.1.2006: Regular 15-minute walk 3 times a week reduces risk of dementia and Alzheimer's even after the age of 65 and even frailer people. The more frail a person, the more exercise likely to help them
- University of California study, Journal of Neuroscience, 27 April 2005: Long term physical activities enhances the learning ability of mice and decreases the level of plaque-forming beta-amyloid protein fragments - a hallmark characteristic of Alzheimer's disease - in their brains
- Proceedings of the US National Academy of Sciences, March 13 2001: In a study of 193 people belived to have Alzheimer's disease, researchers found that people who participated in fewer leisure activities between the ages of 20 and 60 were 3.85 times more likely to develop Alzheimer's
